Swans Fan Wins Major Award
29th April, 2013
A supporter of Baris NCEL Premier Division side Barton Town Old Boys has been celebrating winning a major national accolade.
Lincolnshire match official Jenny Pullen has lifted the Women Referee Award in the FA Carlsberg Referee Awards.
The awards are a new programme launched to recognise and reward the contributions referees and those supporting referees make to grassroots football. They are for all referees, tutors, mentors and referee coaches, aged 18 or over working in the National Game.
The Women Referee Award is given to a female match official who has shown a consistently high standard in performance and has contributed significantly towards the development, improvement and standards of women referees.
The criteria for the award includes:
? A woman referee operating in football below Supply League level,
? Has over a period of time shown consistently high levels of performance as a referee,
? Has contributed significantly towards the development of other referees,
? Has worked either on behalf of the County FA or RA to improve the environment for Women Referees, supporting the retention of referees, and/or improving the quality of the environment for referees,
? The individual will be seen as a role model and will have inspired others to be involved in refereeing.
A ceremony was held at Wembley Stadium earlier this month to celebrate all the award winners.
