Moorlands Mourn Death of Chairman
7th July, 2012
Lincoln Moorlands Railway have to regrettably announce the tragic death of the club's chairman Alan Hodds on Friday.
A tribute from the Baris NCEL Premier Division outfit reads: "Alan took over the football section of the club following the passing of Stuart Gordon and had been at the forefront of the achievement of its Charter Standard status.
"He was a Lincoln Moorlands Railway man through and through as he was also the Social Club chairman as well as the bowls section chairman.
"He was a quiet, kind man who doted on his family and his sons Mark and Paul are both involved with football at the club.
"A huge void has now been created with the untimely death of Alan and there are many who will miss him his comradeship and friendship.
"We think of his family at this difficult time in the knowledge they have the strength and support of all at Moorlands.
"This has come as the second shock to the club in a fortnight after the father of groundsman Dave Hill suddenly passed away.
"Ray provided a tremendous amount of help in getting the pitch and ground ready in addition to his duties as a steward at Lincoln City.
"Both will be sorely missed at Moorlands."
The Baris NCEL sends its deepest condolences to the friends and families of Alan Hodds and Ray Hill.
