Iron Test for Moorlands

3rd July, 2012

Lincoln Moorlands Railway have now confirmed their final line-up of pre-season friendlies, including a visit to Newark Road by Scunthorpe United.

The five July fixtures will provide a stern test for new manager Matt Carmichael's side as they get ready for the new Baris NCEL Premier Division campaign.

They include home games against Boston United (17th), Gainsborough Trinity (21st) and Scunthorpe (24th) with trips to Boston Town (14th) and Spalding United (28th).

He said: "I look forward to the visit of Scunthorpe United as it was one of my former clubs in my playing days and I have kept in contact with a few people.

"I also had a a spell at Gainsborough Trinity and know Steve Housham, their manager, and it will be nice to enjoy a couple of beers together on the day.

"I am told that all the teams we will be playing will be fielding good sides to give us a real testing programme and I am confident it will give us a confidence boost prior to the season starting."
