Old Enemy Clash for 90th Birthday
13th September, 2009
England and Scotland will clash at Flaxley Road later this month as part of Selby Town's ongoing 90th birthday celebrations.
England's current over 40's World Champions, that includes Selby coach Pete Collier, are to take on Scotland on Friday 25th September.
The match will stir memories of 1966 where the Scots were the first team to beat England after they won the World Cup and the English will be hoping, this time, that history does not repeat itself.
The club is looking to attract a large crowd to cheer on the england world champions who will hopefully be able to bring the trophy with them to show off.
Kick-off time is yet to be confirmed but should be 7pm.
The bar will, of course, be open and there will be other fun stuff going on to make it a fun night whatever the outcome of the game.
