No appeal from Emley on league switch
21st May, 2019
Emley AFC will not be appealing the FA's decision to transfer the club laterally from the Toolstation NCEL to the Hallmark Security League.
It was revealed on Sunday morning that the Pewits would be moving to the North West Counties League, swapping places with Silsden AFC.
A statement released on Emley's website on Tuesday morning read: "The club felt an appeal was unlikely to succeed and the ensuing uncertainty would harm our preparations for next season.
"So it is goodbye to the NCEL, a league of which the original Emley was a founding member in 1982.
"Our thanks and best wishes to everyone connected to the league and all clubs past and present.
"Now it's hello to the NWCFL. We look forward to visiting new grounds and welcoming many new visitors to the Fantastic Media Welfare Ground."
All at the NCEL wish everyone at Emley AFC all the best for the future and thank them for being wonderful ambassadors for the league since its inception 27 years ago.
