Several Roles to be Filled at Dinnington

3rd July, 2012

A number of roles at Dinnington Town have become vacant after Chris Dearns decided to step down following eleven years of service at the Baris NCEL Division One club.

Candidates are required for the following positions:
* Club Secretary
* First team Match-day Secretary
* Reserve team Match-day Secretary
* FA Charter Standard Co-ordinator
* Club Welfare Officer (or assistant to the existing Club Welfare Officer)
* Volunteer Co-ordinator
* Schools' Liaison Officer
* Press Officer
* Website Manager

The above positions are advertised as individual roles but some would ideally be filled by one person.

The work is unpaid but all material costs incurred to fulfil the position will be reimbursed.

There is a requirement for all positions to have internet linked computers to carry out the work as all information will be sent in an electronic format.

The positions are open for an immediate start and full training will be given if required.

Speaking about his decision to step down, Chris said: "I have decided now the club is in a rejuvenation period it is time to retire as Dinnington Town FC's Club Secretary.

"I have made many friends in the Dinnington area, most of those helped the club to get where it is today.

"I have great memories working with them regenerating the facilities and the many happy hours spent building walls, fencing and laying concrete to get the grading to enter the NCEL.

"It is good to see the junior section which has come on in leaps and bounds since it was formed in 2003.

"I personally have happy memories of the Saturday morning soccer school, we started with a handful of boys and girls of different age groups and skills.

"It is good to see some of the youngsters going on to play for league clubs. I hope this will carry on and eventually we will see a senior team full of local players.

"I will miss the banter with the supporters, players and other club members during the games, especially Dinnington Town Manager Steve Toyne?? it has been a difficult and long decision to make.

"Thank you to every one I have met in my eleven years as Club Secretary, the legacy is there, it's time for the next period."

Anyone interested in the vacant positions is asked to make contact in the first instance with Chris Dearns on 07854 722465 or e-mail chris.dearns@gmail.com who will treat all enquiries as confidential.
