Eagles Appoint Management Duo
3rd October, 2009
Eccleshill United have unveiled their new management team, according to Telegraph & Argus.
Danny Bolton and his assistant Joe Richardson will be watching from the stand for today's match at home to AFC Emley in Division One.
Both are former Thackley players, and Richardson also had a spell at Liversedge, so they are well aware of Eccleshill and have a desire to bring successful times back to Plumpton Park.
Bolton was the chosen candidate from the eight on the Eagles' shortlist but he was only offered the role on Wednesday.
Eccleshill secretary Mark Holstead said: "Danny has a very good background in coaching and management with Otley Town and Sandy Lane and has plans to bring new players to the club."
Bolton said: "I was extremely pleased when I was offered the manager's position and I'm still over the moon.
"Between us, we are bringing in Jason Stoney as goalkeeping coach - we are looking to improve the club on a number of fronts.
"Nothing has gone Eccleshill's way over the last few years and we want to change all that.
Speaking about Richardson, he added: "This is a new partnership but I think our coaching and personnel styles will be a good mix.
"We can both be firm and assertive but we want to introduce a lot of fun into training sessions and like to see a good bit of banter flying around.
"I hope we can tempt some players to join us in our challenge as well - we have already signed three but would like to bring ten in. Those players would be incorporated into the existing squad.
"At today's game I will introduce myself to them in the dressing room and then Joe and myself will watch the game and make a few notes.
"We will see what they are like, and then next week when we start working with them we will encourage them to strive for a first-team place."
