A second hat-trick in three Toolstation NCEL Premier Division matches from Nathan Keightley helped Penistone Church to a 4-1 home win over Goole AFC on Saturday that keeps them three points clear at the top of the table.

Keightley took his league tally to fifteen for the season by opening the scoring in the 40th minute from the penalty spot before striking twice in the second period whilst Andrew Ring also got on the scoresheet.

Carl Stewart claimed a consolation for the Vikings who stay a point above the relegation zone on an afternoon where there were defeats for all six of the bottom seven who played.

Worksop Town remain on Penistone's coattails as they too notched up a 4-1 victory on their own patch, comfortably dispatching visitors Knaresborough Town.

Eccleshill move to within a point of their visitors as a Jake Thompson brace, following goals from Charlie Flaherty and Andrew Cooper, ensured a straightforward victory at the Mitton Group Stadium.

Grimsby Borough drop to second after a 4-1 home defeat to East Yorkshire Carnegie, a victory for the visitors that will be a major boost in their efforts to avoid relegation.

There was a goal apiece in Armthorpe Welfare's home clash with Ollerton Town, Gavin King putting the visitors ahead before parity was restored by Joshua Dodd.

And, basement side FC Bolsover won the battle of the bottom two as Jack Warwick got both of their goals in a 2-1 win at Harworth Colliery with Matthew Thompson's strike for the hosts between his double.
