Bottesford Town ensured their run in this season's Buildbase FA Vase will continue after a 3-0 home win over Abacus Central Midlands League side Pinxton in midweek. The Poachers, who have now won replays in the two rounds so far, took the lead on Wednesday night after 28 minutes through Lee Ridley and he doubled their advantage midway through the second period.
Jack Cross then confirmed that there would be no upset at the Birkdale Stadium as he scored Bottesford's third with ten minutes remaining and they will now travel to Saffron Dynamo in the First Round Proper in mid-October.
There was disappointment, however, for
Parkgate who could not provide an upset on Tuesday night in the Emirates FA Cup as they went to Leek Town, a side two divisions above them in the National League System, in a First Round Qualifying Replay.
The Toolstation NCEL Division One side went down 3-0 at their Evo-Stik Northern Premier League hosts so Knaresborough Town and Staveley Miners Welfare will fly the flag for the league at the next stage this coming weekend.
And,
Knaresborough go into their cup tie on the back of a 3-1 win on Tuesday that moves them up into fifth spot in the Premier Division.
Brad Walker opened the scoring just before half-time at home to
Athersley Recreation who remain just outside the bottom two.
The Rec battled back with an Aiden Salmons equaliser near the hour mark but Greg Kidd and Lawrance Hunter both pounced in the final fifteen minutes to make it a fourth win out of six league matches for the Manse Lane side.
