Railway Hit By Copper Thieves
17th December, 2009
Lincoln Moorlands Railway's home league match with Nostell Miners Welfare next Tuesday has been called off due to a break-in at the club.
Thieves entered the changing rooms at the Newark Road ground yesterday, stealing all the copper piping which has also led to standing water throughout the dressing room.
The referees' showers had also been pulled from the wall.
The damage caused is estimated to be around ?2,000 and insurance assessors are coming to inspect the damage over the next couple of days.
As well as next week's game, the following home match with Winterton Rangers on January 2nd is also under threat but a decision about that fixture will be made once the timescale for repairs is known.
