Race Leaves Hallam
3rd November, 2009
Hallam have announced the departure of first team manager Wilf Race.
He informed the club of his intention to resign from his position with immediate effect after the 3-1 home defeat against Pickering Town on Saturday.
The loss left the Sandygate side in the bottom three of the KoolSport NCEL Premier Division.
Race took over during the close season and faced a major rebuilding job after the departure of most of last season's squad.
And, despite the club's lowly league position, they did enjoy some success in both the FA Cup and FA Vase this season.
The club have placed on record their thanks for Race's efforts and wish him all the best for the future.
Assistant manager Kenny Geelan, aided by Stuart Lowe, will be in charge for the foreseeable future.
Geelan has previous management experience with Alfreton Town Reserves and Staveley and their first match in charge will be against Dinnington Town at Sandygate this evening.
