Villa Cut Prices For Pro Club Fans

19th March, 2010

Askern Villa are hoping to boost their profile with local supporters of the professional game by cutting admission prices for them for their next two home matches.

The entrance fee will be just ?1 to holders of season tickets with any professional club for their KoolSport Northern Counties East league matches on Saturday 27th March against Worsbrough Bridge Athletic and Saturday 3rd April against Staveley Miners Welfare.

Any supporter who produces their season ticket for any Barclays Premier League or Coca-Cola Football League club at the gate will be entitled to the reduced admission.

Villa's Commercial Manager, Dave Hall, said of the offer: "We are trying move the club forward, we have progressed quickly on the field and now we need to entice new faces through the gates at the Welfare Grounds so we can compete at this level.

"The club has spent a lot of money (thousands in fact) to improve the ground this season to meet the league's criteria and hopefully passes the inspection later this season.

"Obviously, success on the field helps with this but we are sure that KoolSport Northern Counties East League football at Askern Villa can appeal to fans of professional clubs.

"We just need to be able to attract them there first and hopefully this offer will help with that so that some of these fans may return when not attending future matches at their own club."

The club are now showing their intentions off the field by organising fund-raising events to raise much needed funds.

The events are as follows: Saturday 27th March - Elvis Tribute Night with Michael Pass ?3 a ticket; Saturday 22nd May - An evening with former Liverpool, Spurs, West Ham and England International Neil 'Razor' Ruddock ?20 ticket which includes a comedian and buffet; Friday 16th July - Golf Day at Hickleton Golf Course - team of 4 - ?180 per team.
