Main Explain Temporary Price Rise
10th February, 2010
Rossington Main have explained why the price of their matchday programme rose for last night's match with Askern Villa.
The KoolSport NCEL Division One club will also be doing the same for one more of their home matches this season.
A club spokesperson explained: "Due to a family holiday over the Christmas period, we printed off two sets of programmes in advance for the games over that period.
"Unfortunately, nobody foresaw the weather postponing all football for the foreseeable future and the programmes sit unused.
"So, for last night's game against Askern Villa the price of the matchday programme saw a slight increase from ?1 to ?1.50.
"For that slight increase, the buyer got two programmes - the original one and the one for last night's game - instead of one.
"It may seem a little petty to some to do this but a lot of time and effort goes into producing these programmes and it seems a shame to shove them in a cupboard and gather dust when the people who they are intended for can enjoy them.
"The price increase is by no means aimed at the travelling supporters of Askern - it just happens to be from one of the games that we had postponed.
"We will be doing the same when Glasshoughton come to town as this was the other game that programmes were printed for."
Rossington add that the cost of the programme for Saturday's game against Pontefract will revert back to the usual ?1.
