Welfare Get Winning Feeling ... At Last
29th September, 2009
Glasshoughton Welfare will have celebrated more vigorously than most after their 2-1 win at Brighouse Town on Saturday.
For it was the first time that they had tasted victory in any competitive game since February 2008.
For 53 matches following that win by the odd goal in the Premier Division against Parkgate at Leeds Road, Welfare had been unable to stop a slide that sees them now in the bottom two of Division One.
But, with new boss Stuart Waddington fielding an almost changed side, they came from behind at the weekend to pick up three points, leaving Welfare now optimistic for the future.
And, they are determined not to wait another nineteen months for their next victory.
