AFC Emley hosted a special charity match last night that raised over ?1,200 to help get people to donate organs, blood and bone marrow. They took on a Huddersfield & District League XI to raise cash for the 'Sign Up for Sudders' campaign which was set up by Adrian Sudbury - an inspirational young journalist for the Huddersfield Examiner - who documented his long fight against Leukaemia in an online blog.
Sadly, 'Sudders' lost this battle just over a year ago but not before launching an incredible media campaign to raise awareness for the disease and the importance of the disease.
Almost 300 spectators were at last night's game which saw AFC Emley win 3-2 to lift the trophy.
Captain Steven Kenworthy was presented with the trophy by Frank Beaumont of the District League and Trish Wright from AFC Emley.
