New Staveley Manager Revealed
15th September, 2009
Billy Fox has become Staveley Miners Welfare's new manager.
He has left Premier Division side Thackley to take over at the Division One outfit, replacing Darren Bland who stepped down at the start of the month.
The Inkersall Road side say his application was received last week and he was interviewed over the weekend.
Chairman Terry Damms said: "Billy is known at local U19 North Midlands League level where he won the First Division title with Hallam FC U19's, working at Doncaster Rovers FC Academy for the past four years and having provided Thackley FC with one of their best ever NCEL Premier placings last season despite the obvious difficulties that he faced residing in Sheffield.
"Billy will be working and is fully au fait and willing to work within the club's ethos and guidelines and he will continue to develop the current squad of players without wholesale changes being implemented.
"There will be close liaison with the reserve and U19 management teams also to ensure that all the players at the club are assessed and afforded opportunities to progress into the first team.
"Billy has confirmed he will be bringing Nigel Ransom as his assistant.
"The Club would place on record their thanks to the many other applicants and wish them well for the future."
