Three new clubs could join the KoolSport Northern Counties East League for next season after the Football Association gave the green light to their possible progression.

The League has been given approval to continue processing the applications from two S&HCFA County Senior League sides, Athersley Recreation and Handsworth FC, as well as Louth Town from the Central Midlands League.

The trio's move up to our league will be subject to ground grading requirements being met and final league positions.

Meanwhile, the FA have indicated that two other clubs, Parramore Sports of the Central Midlands League and Cleethorpes Town from the Lincolnshire League, would not be approved by their Leagues Committee.

That is because both those teams are not expected to finish in "promotional positions" in their respective divisions.
