NCEL Welcome Farsley Survival
5th September, 2009
The KoolSport NCEL is delighted at the news that former member club Farsley Celtic has been saved from closure.
An as yet unnamed consortium came forward yesterday at the eleventh hour to rescue the Blue Square North side.
Its closure could have impacted on the NCEL as Division One side Leeds Carnegie use Farsley's Throstle Nest ground for their home matches.
The League were kept fully notified by Carnegie of all developments throughout this week.
And, the Management Board were pleased that, as soon as the news broke that Farsley were in trouble, two other NCEL clubs came forward and offered to share their ground with Leeds Carnegie.
This spirit of co-operation by teams and the helping out of fellow sides who may be in trouble is something that the League is delighted to see.
