Player Ban Shock For Boyle
14th October, 2007
Thackley manager John Boyle's mood changed from delight at the start of last week to frustration by the end of it after losing another player to suspension.
The boss drafted in former Guiseley forward Danny Forrest and former Bradford Park Avenue winger Paul Helliwell.
But, striker Nicky Matthews misses five games, a ban that started at the weekend at Selby Town.
"Nicky was sent of in a five-a-side match at the GOALS Centre at Hanson School in a kickabout game," said Boyle.
"I didn't even know that came under the West Riding County FA banner and was very disappointed to find that he was banned for so many games because of it.
"Fortunately we have our squad bolstered by the two new signings and they are permanent transfers.
"We picked Danny up from Harrogate Railway Athletic in the UniBond League.
"He is proven at that higher level and Paul broke into Avenue's first team when they were in the Conference North."
