Fox Takes Over At Thackley

21st June, 2008

Thackley have named Billy Fox as their new manager.

Fox was assistant boss at Premier Division rivals Hallam last season and is currently working for Championship newcomers Doncaster Rovers, coaching with their Academy.

"I'm delighted to have been offered this position as the club have a lot of potential and I can?t wait to get started," the Sheffield-based UEFA B licence holder told Telegraph & Argus.

"I have met the players and will be encouraging them to stay on with us but I will also be bringing in a few new faces.

"The only thing that concerns me at this moment is the lack of pre-season friendlies.

"The club said they held off until they had made the appointment, so now that's done I want the games confirmed.

"The ones they had in the pipeline are perfect; all realistic opponents that will give the players a test."

Thackley have retained the services of Sean Regan, who was John Boyle?s assistant last season, and Fox will be bringing Nigel Ransome with him.

The three will work together, which will help the new man settle in and maintain stability at the club.
