The top two sides in both the Premier Division and Division One met on what could prove to be a vital weekend in the NCEL.

A Rob Northen strike in the third minute of injury time meant that Premier Division leaders Winterton Rangers maintained an eight-point gap over their closest rivals, Glapwell, with a 2-2 home draw.

Glapwell had twice gone ahead through Ian Brown and Craig Gaunt but Northen was on hand to save the hosts on both occasions to take his goals tally in the League to seventeen.

An 82nd-minute strike from Brook Newton was too little, too late for third-placed Liversedge who were beaten 2-1 at home to Arnold Town.

The Eagles had earlier taken what would prove to be a decisive lead through goals from Craig Mitchell and Josh Thornton.

Pickering Town, who still have an outside chance having a say in the title challenge, could not take full advantage as they were held 1-1 at an improving Brodsworth Welfare.

And, Selby Town stayed in fifth as they were beaten 2-1 at Nostell Miners Welfare where all the goals came in the opening seventeen minutes.

A Dave Nicholas brace put the hosts in command before Steve Lyon pulled one back for the Robins.

Nostell moved up to seventh with that victory on a day when there was very little movement in the Premier Division table.

Hallam, therefore, were the only side in the top six to win as a Gareth Clayton goal in the first 22 seconds, an eighteenth minute Scott Bates strike and an own goal from Adam Yates saw them win 3-0 at Shirebrook Town.

Basement side Glasshoughton Welfare cut the gap between themselves and nineteenth-placed South Normanton Athletic to one point as they won 1-0 at home to Parkgate, their first League victory since October.

Darren Leech got the vital goal on 66 minutes to close in on South Normanton who lost 1-0 at Eccleshill United.

The remaining two Premier Division matches saw the spoils shared as Maltby Main and Thackley played out a goalless draw at Muglet Lane.

And, Long Eaton United moved up to tenth with a 1-1 draw at home to Mickleover Sports with David Holmes' 83rd-minute strike cancelling out the opener for the hosts from Adam Newton.

Dinnington Town moved eleven points clear at the top of Division One as they won 2-0 at second-placed Bottesford Town to make them surely odds-on to win the title.

Second-half goals from Simon Mirfin and Grant Allott sealed the victory in what was a tight, intriguing encounter.

An Alan Jefferies double was not enough for Gedling Town who stayed four points adrift of Bottesford in third following a 3-2 defeat at home to Borrowash Victoria.

Tommy Leighton, Jamie Pawley and John Guy got the goals that moved the Vics out of the bottom three.

Rainworth Miners Welfare regained fourth spot as they won 3-1 at Scarborough Athletic with Robbie Clarke and Matt Draper putting them two-up by the break.

Danny Naylor added the third eleven minutes into the second period before Ryan Blott got a late consolation for the Seadogs in front of the day's biggest crowd of 457.

The Wrens' North Nottinghamshire rivals Teversal stayed just behind them in fifth after picking up a point at Tadcaster Albion.

Brendan Sweeney scored their equaliser halfway through the second period after Stefan Zoll had given Taddy the lead on ten minutes.

Next-to-bottom Rossington Main put daylight between themselves and basement side Pontefract Collieries with a 2-0 win at home to Worsbrough Bridge Athletic.

Lee Holmes and William McGhee scored the goals in a four-minute period around the half-hour mark.

The gap between them and Ponte grew to five points after the Colls lost 3-0 at Staveley Miners Welfare with goals from Lee Gregory, Danny Robinson and Ryan Damms for the home side.

And, AFC Emley were 2-1 victors at Yorkshire Amateur.

Meanwhile, Hall Road Rangers progressed to the Semi-Finals of the East Riding Cup with a 3-1 win at Reckitts AFC.

A first-half brace from Martin Thacker and a third from Paul Palmer in the 47th minute saw them through.
