Midweek Match Review
17th January, 2008
Only one match survived the atrocious weather and it proved to be a very dramatic one.
Bottesford Town were the first to claim their place in the Quarter-Finals of the NCEL League Cup with a 2-1 victory at Dinnington Town.
The rain ended early enough on Tuesday for the game at Phoenix Park to get underway.
Honours remained even between the top two Division One sides in the first half but Dinnington took the lead on 56 minutes when Grant Allott headed home a cross from Danny Lindley.
And, that's how it stayed until injury time when two goals in 30 seconds turned the game completely on its head.
Firstly, John Baross equalised with a shot from an acute angle to seemingly send the match into an extra thirty minutes.
But, straight from the restart, Bottesford regained possession and Danny House sent the visitors through.
