Davey is the new man at Rail

14th May, 2018

Harrogate Railway Athletic FC have announced the appointment of Brian Davey as their first team manager for the upcoming 2018/19 campaign.

The Rail have made the announcement as they prepare for life at Step 6 after finishing in the relegation places in the Toolstation NCEL Premier Division.

A club statement said: "It has been another tough season on and off the pitch for the club and we would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone associated with the club for their unwavering support over the last twelve months.

"This goes to all the committee, members, supporters, players and sponsors - all of whom we cannot continue without.

"A special thank you should go to the departing management team - Marlon Adams, Michael (Jelly) Reynolds and Lee Ryan - for seeing the season out with limited resources available to them to be able to compete properly at this level.

"We would like to wish them all good luck for the future, their desire and drive to succeed will be an asset to the right club.

"Looking to our future, there are few who have the experience of local footballers as the newly appointed manager Brian Davey who brings with him Craig Ogilvie, Simon Brooker and Chris Hirst.

"They are all well aware of the club's current status on and off the field. They understand the task in hand and are not daunted by the size of the challenge ahead.

"We have all enjoyed the great seasons of the past with monster FA Cup runs and promotions.

"We are now where we are and will continue to work hard to find success for the future of our great club in what ever guise that may be."
