Sedge thank clubs for support after abandoned match
24th April, 2018
Liversedge have contacted the Toolstation NCEL thanking those who have sent them best wishes after their league match on Monday was abandoned due to concern over the wellbeing of one of their players.
Their home fixture with Hall Road Rangers was brought to a halt deep into the second half when Craig Billington took ill in the dugout after he had been substituted.
A statement from the club said: "Liversedge would like to thank all clubs for their messages of support for the wellbeing of the player that suffered a seizure in Monday night's match.
"The player spent a night in hospital and is now fit and well!
"Also, thanks to Hall Road Rangers for their concern and understanding, allowing a game to finish on 78 minutes when the game was crucial in their league placings."
Craig also took to Twitter on Tuesday morning to explain the situation.
All at the NCEL wish Craig a speedy recovery and we look forward to see him back playing football soon.
