Fox takes over at Parkgate

21st November, 2017

Parkgate will be hoping for stability after it was announced that Billy Fox would be taking over as the manager at the Toolstation NCEL Premier Division strugglers with immediate effect.

Fox, who was last in charge in the NCEL at Clipstone last season, is best known in the league for his achievements whilst in the dugout at Staveley Miners Welfare when they were Division One champions in the 2010/11 season and reached the FA Vase Semi-Finals in 2011/12.

And, his first job will be to get the Steelmen back on track after a turbulent month that has seen two managers - Graham Nicholas and Ross Shelton - resign and they have dropped into the bottom two of the table after a 6-0 home defeat to Thackley at the weekend.

Chairman Albert Dudill told the club's website: "Its been a hectic twenty-four hours or so since Ross Shelton stepped down on Saturday evening but Im delighted to welcome Billy to the club.

"He brings a wealth of footballing experience to Parkgate and Im hoping he can get us moving up the table.

"Id like to thank everyone who expressed an interest in the job, we had some high calibre applicants, and Id also like to thank all those people who offered to help us in any number of ways."

Fox will be assisted by former Parkgate defender and fans favourite Richard Haigh whilst Ollie Ryan, who most recently has been player/coach at Evo-Stik League side Sheffield, comes in as first team coach.
