Ground name change at Sandy Lane

30th August, 2017

The name of Handsworth Parramore's ground on Sandy Lane in Worksop has been changed to The King of Soho Stadium.

The Toolstation NCEL Premier Division side say it is to fulfil the wish of a new major sponsor and is effective immediately.

The ground is also used by Parramore's league rivals Worksop Town.

The King of Soho is a Piccadilly based drinks company owned by entrepreneur Howard Raymond who told the club's website: "I am delighted to have reached an agreement with Pete Whitehead of Windsor Food Services for the naming rights of The King of Soho Stadium for the forthcoming season.

"Obviously, Pete and I have had several discussions over the years and not only does this keep my foot in the door of local football but also allows us to have a continuing dialogue on other matters."

Amber Parras chairman Pete Whitehead spoke of his delight at the new agreement: "I've been in regular contact with Howard over the past couple of years or so and he has shown a lot of interest in our club.

"He is passionate about football even suggesting that he could be back in Worksop one day."
