Main unveil new management team

25th July, 2017

Toolstation NCEL Premier Division side have unveiled their new management team following the surprise departure of previous boss Jordan Hall earlier this week.

Hall, who had only been appointed in May, stepped down from the role due to work commitments and Main announced his management team was also leaving so that the club could "start afresh".

And, they have now revealed that Mark Askwith (pictured left) and Scott Mason (centre) will be joint managers with John Crossland (right) their assistant.

A club statement said: "Mark has a lot of knowledge of the club and was joint boss for all of the 2015/16 season and the first half of last season so is well suited to return.

"It's brilliant he agreed to come back after discussions.

"Scott and John are very successful in the local Sunday league particularly with The Joker over the last few years, having won every trophy available including the very prestigious Hallamshire Sunday Cup.

"They did an unprecedented quadruple this season, winning a fifth trophy at the weekend by beating the Sunday league champions from Humberside/East Yorkshire, 1-0.

"They know many local players and past Main players who also played for them on Sundays and we welcome that as part of our club alongside the new guys from further afield.

"We also welcome the fact they've been so keen to make a step up to our level and make up the team with Mark Askwith.

"After we approached them to join up when the position became vacant; and think it's a good opportunity for them and us to go forward again now."
