Glyn Stacey has stood down from his position as manager of Baris NCEL Premier Division side Long Eaton United, citing work commitments as his reason for leaving. The 45-year-old (pictured left) advised club officials on Friday of his intent to leave the club after just two games into the new season.
Assistant manager Craig Weston has agreed to take over from his former colleague on a temporary basis and he advised the players of the situation before yesterday's home defeat against Hall Road Rangers.
Stacey had rejoined the club as manager for the third time in November 2009 after jointly guiding the team to NCEL League Cup success and a runners-up spot in the 2008-09 season.
He had also had a spell as manager earlier in the decade as the team progressed from the Central Midlands League into the NCEL.
As a player, he was a renowned goal-scorer and, during the latter stages of his playing career, he scored 62 goals for Long Eaton United from 112 games.
