Former Bolsover boss back at club

21st February, 2018

The former manager of Toolstation NCEL Division One club FC Bolsover Andy Bridgewater has returned to become its head of development of football.

He stepped down from the role in October but, after meeting with club chairman Ben Thomas, he has agreed to offer his services to the Langwith Road side and has joined its committee.

FC Bolsover are currently nineteenth in Division One, five points away from the bottom two, and picked up what was a vital 1-0 home win on Saturday over another side battling hard to avoid relegation, Brigg Town.

A statement on the club's website said: "Andy wanted to come in and help his hometown club do all they can to survive the drop.

"The club is dear to his heart and he has made his intentions clear to Bolsover."

His role will involve helping with sponsorship, marketing and the general running of the club and he will liaise with management duo Adam Velente and Michael Bohan on a weekly basis.

The statement continued: "The response has been great from everyone involved with the club. Adam and Michael have welcomed his support. Everyone wants to genuinely do well and turn things around for Bolsover. Everyone is in it for the right reasons.

"The players have been fantastic! Turning up week in week out since the club went into a disastrous period. The club went through some dark days recently, Campion away [with an 11-1 defeat] being the worst!

"But, after a positive result last Saturday and with Andy joining the club, Bolsover hope to have more better days than worse until the end of the season."
