Manager Shortlist Down to Four
4th June, 2012
Glasshoughton Welfare have revealed they are going to interview four men to see who will become their manager on their return to the Baris NCEL Premier Division.
The successful applicant will follow in the footsteps of Craig Elliot who went to Evo-Stik League side Ossett Town last month after guiding Welfare to second in Division One.
After advertising on the league website and in the local press, Welfare were somewhat surprised, but delighted, with both the quality and diversity of the applications for the post.
Seventeen applications were received from places as far afield as Hull and Sheffield.
The club's Football Committee are looking to build on the recent promotion and say they are keen to appoint the right man for the task ahead.
And, having met and considered the applications, they have reduced the number to a shortlist of four who are being invited for interviews.
Meanwhile, Welfare are again issuing season tickets which will possibly take in 21 league matches in the Premier Division.
For details of those tickets, contact chairman Phil Riding on (07825) 638975 or by email at philriding@hotmail.com.
