Toolstation NCEL Match Review 2017/18 #37

9th December, 2017

AFC Mansfield are the new leaders of the Toolstation NCEL Premier Division as they won the only top flight game to escape the big freeze on Saturday.

The Bulls won 4-2 at Parkgate to jump to the summit and have a two point lead over second placed Handsworth Parramore.

Nicholas Guest netted an early opener before Lynton Karkack doubled their advantage at the start of the second period and Oliver Fearon scored his thirtieth goal of the season to give them a 3-0 lead going into the final quarter of the game.

Nathan Joynes pulled one back for the next-to-bottom hosts but Cameron Dear made it 4-1 on 86 before Joynes got his and Parkgate's second in stoppage time.

Three Division One matches also went ahead with Grimsby Borough winning 3-0 at basement side Brigg Town, Ben Sibbick and Joshua Venney twice with the goals that move Borough to within six points of the top in fourth place.

Selby Town climbed up into fifth but are five points away from Borough after their 5-0 victory at Rossington Main, Joseph Dale with four of their goals whilst a James Bytheway own goal added to the home side's agony.

And, Nostell Miners Welfare prevailed in the battle of two of the bottom three teams, Daniel Collins' late winner earning them a 2-1 defeat of visitors Retford United after Jack Owen had cancelled out the away side's first half goal from Reece Treasure.
