Toolstation NCEL Match Review 2017/18 #16

27th September, 2017

Rossington Main became the final Toolstation NCEL side to book their place in the First Round of the Buildbase FA Vase whilst Pickering Town now top the Premier Division after another busy midweek of action.

Main won 2-0 at Division One rivals Hallam to book a home clash with Bootle next month, Connor Williamson breaking the deadlock towards the end of the first half whilst Declan Howe doubled their advantage just before the hour mark.

In the Premier Division, a hat-trick from Ryan Blott helped the Pikes to a 5-2 victory at Parkgate to send them to the summit - his tally is now eleven for the season, making him the joint top scorer in the division, whilst Joe Danby and Joseph McCormick also netted for the visitors after Kieran Hirst and Daniel Harris had given the hosts a 2-1 advantage at the interval.

Pickering climb above Pontefract Collieries whose match at Bridlington Town was abandoned after 49 minutes due to fog with the Colls leading 1-0.

Rainworth Miners Welfare are up to eighth after a 2-1 win at home to neighbours Staveley Miners Welfare, Tomas Poole and Liam Royles scoring for the Wrens in the first period before Kurtis Morley made it a tight last quarter-of-an-hour as he halved the deficit for the away side who are now twelfth.

Thackley have moved above Staveley into eleventh after goals from Callum Padgett and Mike Garrod earned them a 2-1 home victory over basement side Clipstone who pulled one back late on through Timothy Gregory.

Barton Town remain next-to-bottom after a last gasp winner from Mike Thompson saw hosts Bottesford Town sneak away with a 3-2 win that sees them up into fifteenth.

And, a hat-trick from Daniel Chambers made it a great midweek for Hall Road Rangers who won 4-1 at Handsworth Parramore and they go up to thirteenth whilst the Ambers Parras drop to ninth.

In Division One, second-placed Yorkshire Amateur remain four points behind leaders Knaresborough Town as they went down 3-2 at home to Grimsby Borough who are now fifth.

The Ammers led 2-1 at half-time as the division's top scorers Ashley Flynn and Fernando Moke claimed their fourteenth and twelfth goals of the season, respectively.

But, Borough pulled one back in first period stoppage time through Jack Debnam before Daniel Trott and Jack Bradbury claimed all three points with goals in the last twenty minutes of the game.

Montelle Kamara struck twice for FC Bolsover as they won 3-0 at Worsbrough Bridge Athletic and the NCEL new boys have climbed to eighth in the table.

Dronfield Town began midweek in bottom spot but have moved up five places to seventeenth after Christian Savage got the only goal of the game in their home victory over Armthorpe Welfare.

And, there were two goals for Ryan Poskitt as Glasshoughton Welfare won 3-1 at Nostell Miners Welfare, a win that sees them up to sixteenth whilst their hosts drop to twentieth.
