Clubs asked to hold minute's silence this weekend
5th January, 2018
Toolstation NCEL clubs are being asked to observe a minute's silence before their games on Saturday following the passing of three people closely associated with the league in recent days.
The league was saddened to hear the news that Frank Catt, who was one of the original management board members of the league, has passed away at the age of 97.
He served on the board between 1982 and 2009, holding the positions of Ground Grading Secretary and President before he became a Life Member nine years ago.
His hard work set the standards for the high quality of grounds we have in our competition and his contribution will never be forgotten.
Frank's funeral takes place at Octon Crematorium in Langtoft, East Riding of Yorkshire, on Thursday 11th January, 2018, at 10am.
We are also asking clubs to observe the minute's silence to honour June Willingham, a long serving member of Thackley AFC, whose passing was announced earlier this week and for David Fields, a former NCEL referee who sadly passed away whilst on duty with South Yorkshire Police on Christmas Day.
All three will be greatly missed and the NCEL sends its deepest condolences to their families and friends.
