Bottesford forge sponsorship deal with Barrett Steel

7th October, 2020

Local steel stockholder Barrett Steel Limited have announced that they have agreed to a three-year sponsorship deal with Toolstation NCEL Premier Division side Bottesford Town.

The deal will see the Poachers' home ground renamed the Barrett Steel Stadium, alongside kit and equipment sponsorship for the club's newly formed senior development squad and U18s.

Barrett Steel are the UK's largest independent steel stockholder with around thirty sites nationwide. The family-owned, six-generation business has supplied a wide range of ex-stock and processed steel products into key industries, such as construction and manufacturing, for over 150 years.

Scunthorpe is a town steeped in steel tradition which makes it a key processing and distribution centre for the business. Barrett Steel employs many local people across its three Scunthorpe sites. The company is proud to supply many local businesses as well as the general public from its Kass Steel depot.

Richard Gawler, managing director for one of Barrett Steel's Scunthorpe based depots, commented on the sponsorship: "Barrett Steel Ltd is excited to announce our partnership with Bottesford Town Football Club.

"We are committed to supporting the local community around Scunthorpe and see Bottesford Town FC as a focal point from which this support can be continued and progressed.

"Bottesford Town FC is a team rich in heritage, much like our own business, and we support the club's ethos of delivering a better future for young people in the local area.

"We hope the Barrett Steel Stadium will be a positive focal point for the community, especially during these difficult times.

"The team at Barrett Steel Ltd wish the Bottesford Town teams a successful season and we look forward to a successful, long term partnership."

Club Chairman Tony Reeve stated: "The club is delighted to confirm Barrett Steel Limited as its main sponsor; an opportunity like this doesn't always present itself, so we are very pleased that we can forge this major partnership with Barrett Steel.

"They are committed to the club with a three year deal with the option of a further extension and want to get actively involved in supporting our great club.

"They have been an absolute pleasure to deal with, their Managing Director Richard Gawler of their Omega/Shoreham and BCD Tubes sites was well impressed with the club's ethos, our Development Plans and the emphasis that is being placed on Youth Development which will ultimately yield benefits to and improve the success of Bottesford Town, an FA Charter Standard Community Football Club.

"This is fantastic news for the club and we strongly believe the partnership will be beneficial to both parties."
