Bottesford to unveil new floodlights at Birkdale Park
8th October, 2019
Toolstation NCEL Premier Division side Bottesford Town will be unveiling their new LED floodlight system later this month, prior to a game against Scunthorpe United U23s.
The official switch-on will take place at their Birkdale Park ground on Ontario Road, Scunthorpe, on Wednesday 23rd October, 2019, at 6:30pm and then the match will kick-off at 7.45pm.
The floodlights were funded by a £30,035 total grant from the Premier League through the Football Stadia Improvement Fund (FSIF), the sister organisation of the Football Foundation.
The FSIF are the largest funders of non-league football in the country with £6.5m available each year for projects that help improve the comfort and safety of lower-league grounds in both the professional and amateur game, ranging from new stands and turnstiles to floodlighting and improved provision for disabled supporters.
The investment has allowed Bottesford to install new and improved floodlights at their home ground for the first time since they were modified in 1995.
The upgrades and improvements ensure that that the club meet the requirements of Category G for the FA National Ground Grading Criteria applicable to their Step 5 level.
