Sedge player to raise money for Simon Emery's family

8th March, 2021

Liversedge player Alfie Raw will be raising money this weekend for the family of one of the club's former assistant managers who passed away suddenly in November.

Simon Emery, who was 46, was involved at the Toolstation NCEL Premier Division side for six years having arrived at the Clayborn Ground alongside current boss Jonathan Rimmington.

On hearing the shock news, clubs across the league paid tribute to Simon on social media and, following a request from his family, provided shirts with "Emery 2" on the back for his funeral.

Alfie will be doing the 4x4x48 Challenge from this Friday (12th), running four miles every four hours for 48 hours, to raise money for Simon's wife Jeanette, and young sons Jordan and Tyler.

Writing on his gofundme page, Alfie said: "It was such a shock when Simon sadly passed away, he was a top bloke and is missed by many."
