Boro Chairman Eager To Return
6th February, 2011
Scarborough Athletic chairman Richard Adamson is out of hospital and back at home as he continues to recover from a car crash three weeks ago.
He was involved in the crash after Boro's game at Farsley on January 15th, along with club president John Fawcett and supporter Mike Price, who were both unhurt in the crash.
Speaking to scarboroughathletic.com, Richard said: "I am back home and resting up. In the crash I sustained damage to two vertebrae in my back, and will need to wear a back brace while they heal over the next six weeks.
"The hospital staff were great and looked after me well. They are still doing tests to determine what caused me to have the crash. I can't remember much about it which is probably a good thing!"
Despite his injuries, Richard is keen to get back into his work with the club although he knows he will, for the next few weeks anyway, have to follow matches via the team's internet commentary service.
"I am hoping to be back very soon at full steam as this season certainly has a lot left to it, with half our games to go in the league and the chance to win two cups.
"I hope as many people as possible get to matches to cheer on the boys and Paul - as there is still a lot to play for this season.
"I feel fine, and am not feeling ill as such. But I know I need to rest, despite the fact I hate missing games and want to cheer on the lads in person.
"I will have to manage with SeadogsLive for the time being."
