Selby Town are in shock at the sad news that their Vice President and long time committee member, Steven Gardiner, was found dead at his home yesterday.

Details of his death are yet to be released.

Secretary Tom Arkley said: "Steven has been associated with the club for most of his life and will be sorely missed.

"He was often the first person you would see as you entered the ground selling raffle tickets and was affectionately known as Ginner.

"Our thoughts and prayers at this moment are with his family as everyone involved with Selby Town FC get to grips with this sad news.

"God bless you Ginner!"
