Three More Honorary Members Of Oldest Club

20th November, 2005

Sir Bobby Robson, Eric Cantona and Bryan Robson this week became the latest stars to back the world's oldest club by becoming honorary members of Sheffield FC.

The trio follow England cricket captain Michael Vaughan, national coach Sven Goran Eriksso and FIFA boss Sepp Blatter after being sold on the club at the SoccerEx trade show in Dubai.

Inter Milan, Barcelona, Porto, Galatasaray, Fenerbache, Kaizer Chiefs and Boca Juniors are also interested in partnerships with the club which celebrates its 150th anniversary in 2007.

Chairman Richard Tims said: "Sheffield FC is now established in the football world. There are a lot of exciting opportunities.

"We've made a lot of new friends and the future looks very bright. We even gave business cards to Bill Clinton and Richard Branson - but we'll have to wait and see if we get anywhere with that."
