Veteran Toolstation NCEL keeper Jody Barford will once again be taking part in the Great North Run next month, raising money for charity.
The Hall Road Rangers shot-stopper has run the prestigious event for a number of years in aid of Cardiac Risk in the Young and in memory of his mum, Linda.
On his JustGiving page, Jody wrote: "My dear mum was the most generous and supportive lady I knew!!
"So, when she passed away, I decided to do something every year to remember her and try to give a little back and support other people.
"I have done the GNR a few times now and love the challenge and the atmosphere and having connections in the North East - the event always excites me.
"Please support if you can, it doesn’t matter how much, as every little will go towards helping people."
Jody is hoping to raise £1,000 and all at the NCEL wish him the best in the race that takes place on Sunday 8th September, 2019.
