Robins Require Volunteers + Other News
13th June, 2013
Selby Town have announced that they would like to appeal for volunteers to fill a number of positions of help within the club.
The Robins particularly need assistance with the kitchen area and bar on matchdays.
Anyone who would like to join the committee to help with the running of the club would be welcomed as they are rather depleted at the moment. The more people they can get on board would mean that the same few would not need to spend their entire lives down at the club as the workload would be spread.
The Rigid Group Stadium, as always, needs a spring clean and they are looking to splash some paint around on Saturday 22nd and Sunday 23rd June. Anyone who can come down on any or both of these days is asked to come with brush and paint - white or red - although some paint will be available.
On the playing front, the NCEL Division One side is looking for any people with first-aid knowledge to attend injured players during the games, ie, magic sponge, etc. as well as any new players who would like to try out please get in touch. Pre-season training will start on Saturday 29th June at 11am at the ground.
In other Robins news, season tickets have had to go up slightly with the extra teams the division had last year. 21 home games at ?5 equals ?105 so they have set the price at ?55 per adult, ?40 per concession and there are ?100 per Vice President tickets - benefits explained upon application.
The season tickets will only give you access to home league games.
The club is also arranging a race night and they have just three races to fill before they announce the date and venue of the night. Anyone who has already bought horses and/or jockeys is asked to be patient but they are looking to hold the night before the end of July at the latest.
And finally, with regards to the club's potential move to a new home, the Leisure Centre is now flattened and negotiations with Selby District Council have stalled. But, the club are in negotiations with a very interested third party who may offer another route to a new ground. Anyone out there with some business acumen who would like to help the club with some of the technical aspects of any move is asked to get in touch.
