Handsworth Strengthen Backroom Staff
18th May, 2011
KoolSport NCEL Division One side Handsworth have unveiled a new look managerial set-up as they look to build on their reputation as a flagship for young player progression.
First team manager Russ Eagle will continue to be assisted by Mark Highfield, coach Dave Totty and physio John Eagle.
But, changes have been made below them to ensure that there is a natural progression from the club's youth teams, through the reserves and into the first team.
Russ Eagle said of the appointments: "The strength of this club is the young talent that we have as a foundation; with these key appointments we have looked for the best in the area with regards youth player development."
Chairman John Ward added: "The internal structure of the club is vital to ensure that the young players in the Junior Sporting club have a direct and controlled route to the first team as they are the future of this club.
"Handsworth FC is fast becoming the destination of choice for young players and these key appointments show our commitment to the development and progression on the very best talent in Sheffield and the surrounding areas."
Eagle used more than thirteen U18/U19 players in his first team this year, with five being regular starters.
The Amber & Blacks also have exciting off-the-field plans already in place, including an extension to the existing clubhouse which will be complete by the start of next season.
And, the club is pursuing ambitious plans for a new pitch side changing facility for the start of the following campaign.
Chairman John Ward commented: "This club is at the centre of a great community with great plans to move forward.
"I urge all local businesses to jump on-board the bandwagon and support our ambitious plans.
"We'll soon be announcing our ticketing plans for next season that will see us further embrace the local community and offer a great day out for all the family and of course top quality football......all made in Sheffield!"
