Four sides made it two wins out of two to start their Premier Division campaign in perfect fashion as part of a full programme of Toolstation NCEL fixtures on Saturday afternoon.Goole AFC lead the quartet on goal difference after Devonte Newman-Morton's tenth-minute strike earned the Vikings a 1-0 victory at
Thackley.
Hemsworth Miners Welfare,
Garforth Town and
Silsden are the other sides with maximum six points with Hemsworth enjoying the biggest win of the three as they defeated visitors
Eccleshill United 4-1 after going behind to an Antony Brown strike.
Jason Yates and Edward Cass had them ahead by the interval whereupon Matthew Hughes and Ryan Carroll made sure of the points in the second period.
Garforth were single-goal victors at
Yorkshire Amateur, Adam Priestley with an early goal for the Miners, whilst Khurram Shazad got both of Silsden's goals in a 2-1 home win over
Maltby Main.
The largest victory belonged to
Albion Sports who won 8-1 at
Athersley Recreation, Alhassane Keita's hat-trick added to by goals from Bruce Fernando, Marcel Chigumira, Sam Denton, Roy Fogarty and Andrew Horbury.
There was also a big win on their travels for
Grimsby Borough who, thanks to goals from Lewis Bemrose, Liam Higton, Harry Burke, Joshua Sunter and Adam Drury, triumphed 5-1 at
Bottesford Town.
Ben Hinchliffe struck a hat-trick for
Barton Town but the Swans went down 4-3 at
Liversedge, a Joseph Kenny brace along with an Alfie Raw penalty and Craig Disley own goal giving the hosts the points.
There were home victories for
Penistone Church and
Staveley Miners Welfare with Luke Aldrich earning Church a 1-0 scoreline over
Bridlington Town.
Adam Lund, Michael Burke, Tomas Poole and Joseph Pugh ensured a 4-2 win for Staveley over neighbours
AFC Mansfield whose goals both came from the league's top scorer Ross Duggan.
Meanwhile, the match between
Handsworth and
Knaresborough Town ended goalless at Sandy Lane.
In Division One,
Selby Town now top the table after their 5-1 win at
Harrogate Railway Athletic, Joshua Walker's opener added to by a double from Daniel Walker and further goals from Christopher Jackson and Alex Burton before Joe Jagger grabbed a late consolation for the Rail.
Retford FC,
Winterton Rangers and
Skegness Town also move above previous leaders
North Ferriby who drop to fifth after Liam Radford's 59th minute goal condemned the Villagers to a 1-0 loss at
Armthorpe Welfare.
Will Tomlinson's penalty midway through the second period proved to be the winner for Retford as they beat visitors
Hallam 2-1 whilst Winterton won by the same scoreline at local rivals
Brigg Town, Robbie Start and Adam Baskerville netting for Rangers before James Osborne halved the deficit for the Zebras.
And, goals in the last ten minutes from Jordan Smith and William Britton claimed a 3-1 victory for Skegness at
Dronfield Town.
Hall Road Rangers climb to sixth after a 9-0 home annihilation of next door neighbours
East Hull, Richard Medcalf and Dan O'Connor with two each whilst there were also goals for Ryan Williams, James Whittingham, Tommy Waud, Luke Bullement and Gary Bradshaw.
A Danny Edwards brace helped
Nostell Miners Welfare to a 4-1 win over visitors
Campion and they move up into seventh.
Worsbrough Bridge Athletic were 5-1 victors at
Parkgate with Daniel Palmer scoring a hat-trick, Thomas Foltyn-Brown struck twice in
Rossington Main's 3-2 home win over
Glasshoughton Welfare, and there was a 1-1 draw between
Swallownest and visitors
Ollerton Town.
