For-Ward Thinking for Badgers
2nd August, 2013
Retford United Manager Richard Sennett has appointed Paul Ward to his coaching set up with the responsibility for planning and implementing coaching for their Toolstation NCEL Premier Division side.
49-year-old Ward is experienced in football starting his playing career with the youth team at Chelsea before moving on to Middlesbrough in 1982 where he played over seventy games in three years.
In subsequent years, he made moves to Darlington, Leyton Orient, Scunthorpe United and Lincoln City amassing over 300 league appearances.
He holds the record of being the youngest manager in the Football League - at 23 years old he gained promotion via the play-offs and was voted into the divisional team by his peers at the annual PFA Awards Dinner.
Since then, he has had spells in non-league with Gainsborough, Emley and Frickley as well as being a coach at Doncaster Rovers and Manager with Hatfield Main and Harrogate Town.
He currently owns a gym and will link up with the players at Saturday's game against Kidsgrove Athletic.
