Eagle Announces Parras' Retained List
3rd July, 2013
Worksop Parramore's new boss Russ Eagle expressed his delight this week at confirming the players that have agreed to another year at the NCEL Premier Division club.
Eagle also confirmed that he is in discussions with other members of last year's squad who have yet to commit as he looks to mount a big promotion challenge in his first year in charge.
Eagle commented: "I'm delighted that so many of last year's successful squad have put pen-to-paper and committed to the club as we embark on our promotion bid. The quality within last year's squad was frightening and I'm so pleased to secure the services of such quality for this coming season.
"The start made by the whole squad in our pre-season sessions has been fantastic.
"The support that the chairman, Pete Whitehead, has given me from day one has been unbelievable and my aim is to build a squad that is able to keep up and exceed Pete's ambitions!"
Eagle confirmed that ten of last year's hugely impressive squad have put pen to paper and committed to another year at Sandy Lane - Steve Hernandez, Lee Thompson, Richard Tootle, Chris Fawcus, Andy Dawson, Daz Winters, Matt Thorpe, Lee Whittington, Scott Bates and Callum Ward.
Speaking about the ten, the Parras boss said: "Each and every one of these players are class acts who would walk into any NCEL team and many of them two or three steps above. It is vital we build around the talent already at this club."
Meanwhile, details will be released about the club's new players over the coming days.
