Armthorpe Welfare will be holding a Sportsman's Dinner on Friday 12th July, starting at 7pm at Castle Park which is located just outside Armthorpe.It promises to be an entertaining evening with top comedian Jed Stone. The following is taken from
his website: "His energy and enthusiasm, combined with lightening quick ad-libs and topical bang up-to-date material, ensure that every function is always a huge success, and make Jed one of the most sought after comedians in the country."
He has appeared many times on TV and radio and will provide plenty of laughs on the night.
Meanwhile, it has been announced that Dean Windass will be the special guest speaker on the night.
Windass can boast a long and distinguished professional career, most notably at Hull City, Bradford City and Aberdeen. He has made over 700 career appearances, scoring over 200 goals in the process, and he has also played for NCEL teams such as Barton Town Old Boys and Scarborough Athletic.
Not only will he have endless stories from his professional career, including maybe some of his more controversial moments, but he has also faced even tougher battles in recent times as he battled depression and alcoholism following his retirement from the game.
Also on the night, there will be an auction of special memorabilia, and a raffle.
The price of the ticket covers entry and entertainment, plus a two course meal and coffee. Dress code is smart.
Tickets cost ?40 per person, or ?400 if you wish to purchase a table (10 seats).
Tickets should be bought in advance to avoid disappointment on what promises to be a great night.
