Head Coach Tommy Brookbanks has been granted a testimonial season by the club as he completes his eleventh season in the Carlton Town hot seat.

The testimonial had originally been earmarked for the current season but, with the new relief road and delayed development of the ground, the logistics of getting everything in proved untenable," said club chairman Mick Garton.

He added: "We are now working on a game, a dinner and a presentation night as a finale at Stoke Lane for the 2007/2008 season.

"If anybody in football deserves one, it's this guy.

"He works for purely expenses and has taken this club from the Notts Alliance to the verge of UniBond football, and stayed loyal for eleven years.

"There is not a great deal of that in football these days!

"He has a remarkable record and I hope the players, supporters, ex-players, colleagues, friends and foes will come out and support an extraordinary character."

Meanwhile, it has been confirmed that the official opening of the all-new Bill Stokeld Stadium will take place on the 14th of July.

Hucknall Town will be the opponents in the pre-season friendly that will see the new dressing rooms and hospitality complex used for the first time.
