Carlton Double Swoop In Promotion Push

25th March, 2007

Carlton Head Coach Tommy Brookbanks has strengthened his squad for the run-in with the signing of former Shepshed striker Darryl Thomas.

Brookbanks had missed out on Thomas a few weeks ago when Hucknall Town offered him an opportunity and Brookbanks then brought Phil Bignall back to the club.

But, with Bignall set to serve a suspension over the busy Easter period following his sending off against Liversedge, Brookbanks has moved in again and this time has got his man for the final run in.

Brookbanks is also delighted to have captured winger Aiden Brady from Long Eaton.

He believes these two signings will give the club the chance to finish the season on a high and challenge for a possible promotion place.

"We've been down to the bones in recent weeks and the academy lads who have come in have done extremely well and we are still up there challenging.

"But, that extra little bit of experience and quality these two lads will bring us will hopefully give us an edge in the final few games," said Brookbanks.
