Wilson 'Shocked' At Sacking

21st February, 2007

Lee Wilson has said that he is "shocked and very disappointed" that he and his management team were yesterday sacked by Sutton Town.

Speaking in today's Mansfield Chad, he said: "I've been working at the club this season under very difficult circumstances, and there are a number of issues that I am not prepared to reveal.

"It has been a very difficult time, but I'm especially surprised as we have been undefeated this year.

"But life goes on, you have these setbacks and you move on from them.

"I'm not looking to get back into management again yet but would like to go and play for someone.

"It's what happens in football. I bear Sutton Town no ill will - I'm not that kind of person - and would like to wish them well for the future."

His departure came after the Snipes were docked three points and fined ?100 for fielding an ineligible player in their 1-0 win over Retford United in August.
