NCEL Premier Division side Sutton Town have today released Lee Wilson and his management team from their duties at the club.

They told the NCEL website that it was a move done "regretfully".

In a statement, they said: "This is as a result of issues coming to light after the recent hearing concerning Sutton Town playing an ineligible player against Retford United and subsequently suffering a fine and points deduction.

"Whilst the club appreciate that Lee and his team have given 110% effort into Sutton Town it was felt that the time was right for a change of direction.

"This season was a new venture for all concerned at the club and it is accepted that mistakes have been made in all areas but it is hoped that we can all learn and move on without any animosity."

Jason Blunt has taken over first team duties.
